Pumptrack cruisin‘
Talking to another older skater at the big bowl the other day, workout options came up. In particular, workouts that improve you stamina and strength for carving bowls. He mentioned the newish pumptrack in Allston, along the lines of
„Your core will explode, with Testosteron levels through the roof“.
I had no idea what a pumptrack was, so I went to find out.
Turns out it‘s a hell of a lot of fun. It took me a little bit to find the rhythm in my pump to match the waves and steep carvy turns, but at the end I was able to get 3 rounds, maybe 5 minutes or so, at a decent speed, without stopping, until exhaustion made me stop. Not sure how many instance I remember in my life of being so out of breath.
Next time I'll bring the cruiser setup, with softer, larger wheels. Those hard park wheels are less than ideal for that track.
