Mount Cardigan
I thought I give this mountain a try: it's a 2 hour drive away and according to the guide book one of the more interesting tours that are not around Mount Washington.
And it was a success! I spent half a day on the mountain. Skinned (or better booted the last stretch) all the way up to the peak, which I did to check off the peak, but I won't do it again. It's just cold and windy and you can't ride that thin ice and snow cover on top of those large granite slaps anyways.
The old cutout ski trails make a fun ride down. On top there are a few small snow fields where I got a few powder turns in.
One thing I learned is getting there early. The place gets busy in the late mornings.
All in all, a great discovery, definitely coming back!
