Pre Vaxx Session
I got my first COVID-19 shot today. Needless to say the proximity to a skatepark played a role in which vaccination station I selected. I found one and managed to get an hour long session in before my appointment. It's a skatepark a usually don't get to. The park is about a 30 Minute drive away, and given that there are 2 other decent parks much closer, it's rarely worth the extra drive.
It's a relatively new park and I really like the bowl there. You can get so fast in it! I need to start figure out what to do once I get up to the coping, since now it's becoming easier every time to ride all the way up.
There's also a painted red curb in that park. They're not native on the East Coaste, so they have to put exhibition objects in parks.
It's higher than the curb in the small park I usually go. I wanted to do a sanity check on my recently landed Slappy grinds. I wanted to know if I can repeat Slappy grinds on that curb, or if I was just lucky that our curb is lower and even a little roundish, which makes Slappies easier.
After a few successful runs over the red curb I'm happy to confirm that I've Slappies down. They are so much fun!! On to some Slappy variations!
The small quarter in this park has a hole, or opening, or whatever you call it, right in the middle. Grinding over it is not hard, again, like so much in skateboarding, it's just a mental game.
