New Glades

Skintrack

I was out with 2 guys from Winterstick Snowboards on their tour at the Mt Washington Backcountry Festival. It was a good day, not necessarily what I’ve hoped for (e.g. finding some tucked away runs in higher terrain), but, on the bright side, we got to ride the not-yet open new “West Side” GBA glades.

The glades were great. We even found one pristine line where we could lay down the first tracks. Conditions were challenging though. The snow cover was very thin, barely covering rocks and other obstacles. My board came out with a few new dents and scratches, but nothing I can’t fix.

One of the guys pointed out some delamination on my board, that I hadn’t noticed. Now it can’t be unseen and so now I’m trying to file a warranty claim Backcountry (the dealer) and Jones Snowboards. A 3 year old Splitboard with some medium usage shouldn’t just fall apart by itself. I hope the claim will be accepted.
