Pain
For the last few weeks I've been battling weird smaller and larger ouchies. The larger ouchie is definetely the lower back pain. A dull constant pain right around the lower end of the spin, or where it touches the hip. I'm doing acupuncture to get it under control, but it's weird. It's worse when I'm still, especially sitting. When I'm moving it's manageable, until I need to pick some heavier object up or so.
The weird smaller ouchies are my heels, both of them. On the left, the achilles is unhappy, hurting now and then. On the right, it feels like something on the outer side of the heel is inflamed. It's painful when I'm trying to fully extend and stretch the leg, like in a downward dog position. My acupuncturist said it could be related to my relatively tight calves. After every skate session I'm now in a habit of massaging my calves. Thankfully we got a Theragun when they came out a few years ago. Massaging the calf seems to help, but only short term and the pain comes back after an hour.
However, all of that won't stop me from going out skating. The fun and pleasure still exceeds the pain. I'm only hoping I'm not screwing something up long term. If the pain gets worse, I should probably stop for a while.
Right now I decided to not try to jump, and only to lip tricks and slappies. Not that my Ollies were crazy, and flip-tricks are out of reach anyways. Today I had a short session on the low quarter, mellow and nice. My goal is getting a Backside Disaster.
As always, I need to commit more, and turn faster...
Also, that roll-in feels much sketchier than it looks here.
