A Nahant Thursday
It was too hard not to go to Nahant today. The forecast looked great, small bumps, no wind, with temps were super warm for fall.
I first tried a few small broken white wash waves close to the beach. It worked, it was OK. Then I tried to get out a little further, and quickly realized that it's actually easier to catch waves out there, where everybody else is sitting.
Once you're on, you're on and have enough speed for a pretty nice ride back to the beach.
Getting out there was still challenging at times. But with failures you learn: wait for the lull in-between sets, and then paddle as fast as you can out, avoiding breaking waves on top of you, and spilling you back in. It's all an experience.
