Glorious

Nahant Beach Sunrise

What a glorious morning it was!

I had planned of using my work-close-to-the-beach strategy, stay at the coffee shop for the array of morning meetings, and then over lunch sneak out to the beach, but the forecaset changed in favor of the early morning hour.

So I went out to the beach first thing in the morning, and it was just so good. No wind, nice and clean waist high sets rolling through. Caught the first wave I paddled into and ran into a neighbor riding right behind me.

There were some substantially long rides to catch. According to my Surfline tracking, the longest one was 170m. Granted, I milked it and rode that wave as long as I could, but it was just so much fun!

I feel like I'm getting much better at positioning myself on the board, and having more awareness about where my center of gravity needs or should be, depending on the wave shape and size that I'm trying to catch.

Once I'm on, I now feel much more in control of where I want to go, manage to steer the board towards the face of the wave and start trimming it down.

Such a great morning session, so glad I went out!
