Spring has been good so far!
After the freezing, wet and windy day yesterday, not to mention the BIG BOSTON BOOM š„ , it was nice to wake up to some swell again, just 6 days after the chill Memorial Day session.
First thing I noticed, my 4/3 suit didnāt dry all the way inside since the last Memorial Day session. That was a little bit disappointing to squeeze into a slightly moist layer. Need to pay better attention to the drying state for that suit from now on.

Waves looked wild when I arrived at Nahant. It was also still pretty cold, like 8°C with a light offshore breeze going. I was glad I had a hood, to say the least.
The paddle out was hell. Pure hell. My left shoulder is not 100% happy and was aching the entire time. Breaks crashing on top of me. Did my best turtle rolling out there, and was glad when I finally made it!
When waves cross the 1m threshold at Nahant, I feel like itās getting weird. Or maybe I just donāt know where to position myself for that size yet. They came in nicely, the offshore breeze propping them up, all looking good, but the moment you paddle in they die out.
And if itās not dying out, itās closing out quick.
After a little while sitting and observing I caught one, a good one, and rode it over 2 gates all the way to shore.
Was not looking forward to the paddle out again, but it is what it is.
I got there early at 6am, and there were only a few people. By 7:30am the place was mobbed. Almost got hit by a guy riding onto me.
Anyways, out I went again. Didnāt get easier. Shoulder still painful, but I made it.
I think I sat out there much longer before catching the second one, finally got it, cut another guy off who was not happy about it, but I honestly did not see him coming behind my back.
Good ride back, not as nice as the first one, but Iām not complaining.
That was it. Almost 2h in the water, paddled for letās say 8 waves, caught 2 decent rides. Good times!
